uinput.c working example

four years ago on the other mailing list t. elliot endeavoured to
create an example and there were no subsequent follow-ups indicating
success. i've been asked to emulate mouse events from a LIRC-based
remote and the simplest option, especially given that it's only under
_specific_ circumstances that the emulation is required and at all
other times the IR remote is expected to work as... well... a remote
(duh), userspace uinput seemed like the most sensible option.

so, anyway, for anyone else who endeavours to emulate mouse events
from userspace here is the successfully-modified example and a report
on the investigations which helped track down what was wrong:

http://lkcl.net/software/uinput/

if anyone wants a "full" example, i recommend looking at the wminput
project (wiimote) which takes bluetooth input on one side and spits
out uinput on the other, and even vice-versa because it even thupporth
"fawth feedhbackh" aren't we all so lucky.

given that it was discussed originally on linux-usb-devel i figured
that this list was a reasonable place to post a follow-up.
