No. That is no solution. A user may really need cdc-acm.
Your work around may cut somebody's connect to the web.

Heimdall could easily unbind the cdc_acm driver from the device when it
wants to communicate directly with the endpoints and not going through
the created ttyACM device.
04e8:685d is from what I know not used for anything else than
debug/firmware update so I wont protest if you add the ignore quirk to
it. I still think though that this is a problem that should be solved in
Heimdall and not in the kernel.
