Unfortunately this says pretty much the same as your log extract 
earlier.  The error code from the READ command is Aborted Command: 
Parity Error.  In other words, the card reader is unable to read the 
contents of the SDHC card.  Maybe they are incompatible or maybe one of 
them isn't working.

You said the same cards worked under a 3.* kernel a year ago.  Can you 
still boot that kernel and get a usbmon trace from it?
