Just because the error message is the same doesn't mean the bug has to
be the same.
sudo echo 'temporary write through'
/sys/block/sdb/device/scsi_disk/6\:0\:0\:0/cache_type
and I'm getting an operation not permitted error no matter how I
try it.
sudo and output redirection don't mix well. Instead of doing it like
that, do this:
$ sudo -s
# echo 'temporary write through'
>/sys/block/sdb/device/scsi_disk/*/cache_type
# exit
