Seems that for some reason grub was booting the old kernel and not the 4.3-rc3. Figured that out will trying to debug and my message weren’t showing up. That means that the above messages are present in 4.1. Reverting 24d40ee8 doesn’t fix the problem. I did however find another message just before the kernel hang: configfs-gadget gadget: common->fsg is NULL in fsg_setup at 511 Sorry for the confusion.
