It had been debugged 100% at that time.
The line that fixed reporting of the actually set baud rate unveiled a
long standing bug in the driver (see comment in pl2303_set_termios()).
That has been fixed in the meantime with commit 623c82633.

Just reapply 57ce61aad748 or your patch an everything should be fine.
