Hi, whenever I connect my Samsung Galaxy Express in Download Mode to my PC, the following happens: > kernel: [ 93.200732] usb 1-5.1: new high-speed USB device number 11 using xhci_hcd > kernel: [ 93.289458] usb 1-5.1: New USB device found, idVendor=04e8, idProduct=685d > kernel: [ 93.289462] usb 1-5.1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 > kernel: [ 93.289463] usb 1-5.1: Product: SAMSUNG USB > kernel: [ 93.289464] usb 1-5.1: Manufacturer: SAMSUNG > kernel: [ 93.289465] usb 1-5.1: SerialNumber: SAMSUNG USB SERIAL > mtp-probe: checking bus 1, device 11: "/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-5/1-5.1" > mtp-probe: bus: 1, device: 11 was not an MTP device > kernel: [ 93.303036] cdc_acm 1-5.1:2.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device > kernel: [ 93.303344] usbcore: registered new interface driver cdc_acm > kernel: [ 93.303346] cdc_acm: USB Abstract Control Model driver for USB modems and ISDN adapters > ModemManager[1162]: <info> (tty/ttyACM0): released by modem /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-5/1-5.1 > kernel: [ 93.772483] usb 1-5.1: USB disconnect, device number 11 > kernel: [ 93.772630] cdc_acm 1-5.1:2.0: failed to set dtr/rts > ModemManager[1162]: <warn> (Plugin Manager) (Iridium) [ttyACM0] error when checking support: '(Iridium) Missing port probe for port (tty/ttyACM0)' > ModemManager[1162]: <warn> (Plugin Manager) (Via CBP7) [ttyACM0] error when checking support: '(Via CBP7) Missing port probe for port (tty/ttyACM0)' > ModemManager[1162]: <warn> (Plugin Manager) (Nokia) [ttyACM0] error when checking support: '(Nokia) Missing port probe for port (tty/ttyACM0)' > ModemManager[1162]: <warn> (Plugin Manager) (Generic) [ttyACM0] error when checking support: '(Generic) Missing port probe for port (tty/ttyACM0)' > kernel: [ 93.972950] usb 1-5.1: new high-speed USB device number 12 using xhci_hcd > kernel: [ 94.061454] usb 1-5.1: New USB device found, idVendor=04e8, idProduct=685d > kernel: [ 94.061457] usb 1-5.1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 > kernel: [ 94.061458] usb 1-5.1: Product: SAMSUNG USB > kernel: [ 94.061459] usb 1-5.1: Manufacturer: SAMSUNG > kernel: [ 94.061460] usb 1-5.1: SerialNumber: SAMSUNG USB SERIAL > kernel: [ 94.062535] cdc_acm 1-5.1:2.0: ttyACM1: USB ACM device > mtp-probe: checking bus 1, device 12: "/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-5/1-5.1" > mtp-probe: bus: 1, device: 12 was not an MTP device > kernel: [ 94.540658] usb 1-5.1: USB disconnect, device number 12 > kernel: [ 94.540805] cdc_acm 1-5.1:2.0: failed to set dtr/rts > ModemManager[1162]: <info> (tty/ttyACM1): released by modem /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-5/1-5.1 > ModemManager[1162]: <warn> (Plugin Manager) (Iridium) [ttyACM1] error when checking support: '(Iridium) Missing port probe for port (tty/ttyACM1)' > ModemManager[1162]: <warn> (Plugin Manager) (Via CBP7) [ttyACM1] error when checking support: '(Via CBP7) Missing port probe for port (tty/ttyACM1)' > ModemManager[1162]: <warn> (Plugin Manager) (Nokia) [ttyACM1] error when checking support: '(Nokia) Missing port probe for port (tty/ttyACM1)' > ModemManager[1162]: <warn> (Plugin Manager) (Generic) [ttyACM1] error when checking support: '(Generic) Missing port probe for port (tty/ttyACM1)' this repeats until cdc runs out of some handles (64) currently it's 8: $ lsmod|grep cdc_acm cdc_acm 36864 8 module cdc_acm cannot be unloaded. I think this is a bug. In general, is cdc_acm the correct driver for the Download Mode of Android phones? thanks, Jan ps. please CC. -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-usb" in the body of a message to majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html
