Hi, I'm a new to Linux and I try to build a computer dedicated to audio with a Linux Distribution calles Daphile (www.daphile.com). It appears that this DAC cannot be initialized correctly with Linux when I plug it on a NEC/RENESAS USB3.0 card with u720202 chipset. $result: it isn't recognized as audio device, I only get dummy. I have a NEC/RENESAS USB3.0 card with u720200 chipset but I still get the same problem. I've tried it with the latest Ubuntu distribution (13.10) and a Linux Mint distribution too but without success. In Ubuntu when I send dmesg I get the following lines: [ 24.180544] xhci_hcd 0000:01:00.0: ERROR: unexpected command completion code 0x11. [ 24.180546] usb 5-2: Not enough bandwidth for altsetting 1 [ 24.180547] 3:2:1: usb_set_interface failed (-22) [ 24.180806] xhci_hcd 0000:01:00.0: ERROR: unexpected command completion code 0x11. [ 24.180809] usb 5-2: Not enough bandwidth for altsetting 1 [ 24.180810] 3:2:1: usb_set_interface failed (-22) [ 24.181086] xhci_hcd 0000:01:00.0: ERROR: unexpected command completion code 0x11. [ 24.181088] usb 5-2: Not enough bandwidth for altsetting 1 [ 24.181089] 3:2:1: usb_set_interface failed (-22) I've jut copied some lines, in fact these lines are repeated at list 50 times. The Wyred 4 sound DAC2 DSD SE is a 32bits 384khz sample rate capable and it can decode DSD streams too. When I plug it on USB2.0 port of my motherboard it works and it woks too on USB3.0 ports included on the motherboard of another computer. So it appears that the problem is inherent to the NEC/RENESAS USB3.0 card and this DAC. When I plug other devices such as flash key or external hard drive it works perfectly. You can find info concerning my DAC on http://www.wyred4sound.com/ Many thanks in advance for your help and Happy new Year 2014.
