The big problem is that ->sync_fs is called in several different contexts. For syncfs(), yes, but also for sync(), some quota handling, etc. In most of those, we don't want to do an errseq_check_and_advance because we don't have a way to send that error back to userland at all (e.g., sync()), or reporting a writeback error might not make sense.
