That sounds like a good plan to me; linux-tegra-2.6.36 is a little easier to work with than full mainline right now as I mentioned. I note you specifically said backpkort ASoC not ALSA. In other words, can I pretty much expect to drop include/sound/soc* and sound/soc/... from mainline into linux-tegra-2.6.36; I think that's all of ASoc?
