Re: RESERVE/RELEASE
Reserve can be a no-op in almost all cases (all cases I've seen anyway).
The standards have retired this command from most of the
documentation. The standards also do cover interaction between both
RESERVE and PERSISTENT RESERVE.

Re: SEND DIAGNOSTIC
I do know NetBackup sends a SEND DIAGNOSTIC request. However it will
continue without issue if a 'not implemented' response is received.
