Please find a compressed archive here alongside its sha256 checksum here:
https://slint.fr/testing/

Installation:
wget https://slint.fr/testing/linux-5.4.7_build_for_Slint_with_modules.tar.xz
wget https://slint.fr/testing/linux-5.4.7_build_for_Slint_with_modules.tar.xz.sha256
sha256sum -c linux-5.4.7_build_for_Slint_with_modules.tar.xz.sha256 #output shousl be: OK
tar xf linux-5.4.7_build_for_Slint_with_modules.tar.xz
Then as root or using sudo:
cp -r boot/* /boot/
cp -r lib/modules/5.4.7 /lib/modules/
Then upgrade grub.

In /boot/you will find:
config-5.4.7.x64
System.map-5.4.7
vmlinuz-5.4.7
rename them as you see fit.

All I can say is that I have no issue here using espeakup with this
kernel, i.e. pressing several times
spk key_j
spk key_l
say previous and next word every time as expected according to my tests.
Being sighted I may not be the best tester out there though.

All speakup drivers are shipped as modules, the kernel is vanilla
(not patched).

Best regards and a Happy New Year,

Didier
