Yes, the file is drivers/staging/speakup/serialio.c. You are looking for the return statement after a line that issues a warning that says "Unable to allocate port". When I build a patch, I change that warning to say that it's continuing in spite of the error and I completely remove the return statement. But the easiest thing to do is to just comment out the return statement.
