Hi there to the good fellow trying to boot Slackware 14.1 with no joy.
I just downloaded the dvd of the 32 bit version a little while ago, burned it and crammed it into an old dell I got and fired it up and it came right up.
I just typed:
huge.s speakup.synth=ltlk
and hit enter, and in a minute or so it came up with no glitches whatsoever.
I'd say it still works.
I forgot which version you were trying to boot, and that may figure into things, so my apology for not remembering to take that into account.
