Hi Blake: I believe the problem was that you tried to enter two different commands on the command line. If you are running the most recent full version of grml: Place the CD/ramstick in the computer and wait for it to make a cute beedly-bop noise from your PC speaker. Then hit enter to get to the command line promp. Then on separate lines type "modprobe speakup_soft" and following that "espeakup". All without the quotation marks of course. Good luck.
