I'm sure someone will correct me here if I'm wrong, but you will probably also need to jailbreak it, since there is no "official" support for linux systems. It's a GTK-based GUI that looks like it will be compatible with most iPods. You may also want to look for packages that use libgpod, which seems to be a shared library for accessing iPod files.
