Michael, I use arch with speakup too, and mine works fine. Checking the kernel log, I find only those warnings about the modules coming from staging, but none of the other errors you reported. That's probably not helpful, but if I can test anything for you, let me know. I'm loading both the soft module and the ltlk module, with the parameters start=0 for each of them. -- Chuck in Hudson.
