Before installing base system message came up, I heard about 8 different udev diagnostic errors with codes in them that started with 0x. On an earlier installation attempt, I chose ftp.us.debian.org for a mirror and it took a long time to find things on that mirror and then the base installation failed and I got asked questions only in that case about which distribution to install stable testing or cid when I chose 20 on the mirrors list. I have old hardware here and since debian moved to the new grub earlier when legacy grub was available new grub would not install on this hardware. This is an amd athelon k8 computer vintage 1996. I have a more modern x86 computer I'll try the other installation on later. I could put a floppy disk in a floppy drive and probably move to another terminal with information collected off the clipboard but don't know if a basic editor is available for me to use to save those udev messages. If there is, I'll save those and send them later.
