Does anyone here have experience setting up networking when the GRML automatic procedures and grml-network don't work? I've read a lot about it on the Web, but I've only become more confused with each thing I've read. I have written to the GRML list but haven't heard anything. I think you'll need to provide more details before anyone can help you. Who is your internet provider? What modem, brand/model? What type of connection does your provider use, bridged, pppoe/pppoa? Since grml couldn't establish the connection automatically, I'm guessing very likely that your modem doesn't hand out dynamic addresses. In that case, I'd suggest installing the pppoe package apt-get install pppoe and reading /usr/share/doc/pppoe/README.DEBIAN.gz, which will tell you what to do to configure it. This suggestion is tentative, since I don't have answers to any of the above questions.
