Basically, please test images from http://people.debian.org/~sthibault/espeakup/ I have added "sid" images which are using the 2.6.37 kernel. Some drivers have been forgotten in that image, it'll be for next round. My alsa patches to add sound support in the debian installer are submitted to maintainers, we just need to wait for acceptance (shouldn't be too hard) and I'll add the packages to the standard debian installer and talk with debian-boot people about how to make it easy to enable it at boot.
