I have found on some machines with Grml and this possibly holds true for arch as well that the speakers are set to 0 but headphones are audible and usable. try plugging in a set of headphones or external speakers to initially set the volume without site. The Intel High definition audio codecs treat the headphones and speakers as 2 different mixer devices sometimes more. Regards, Kerry. On 9/09/2010 9:21 PM, Terry D. Doesn't seem right, since there is no speech on booting fromthe iso. You have to get sighted help to adjust the volume. > > Perhaps just an anomaly in my setup? > > --terry > > On Thu, Sep 09, 2010 at 07:28:09AM -0400, Terry D. I assume that this is the problem, that there is no driver for the audio device in the iso on the data stick. >> >> If anyone has used the Arch Linux installer to install on an Acer Aspire One, I'd appreciate hearing how they went aboutit. >> >> TIA, >> >> --terry >> >> -- >> Name: Terry D.
