Hi Chuck: My soundcard is very close to yours, an Intel 82801 (ICH8), and I also got no sound as I reported earlier. BTW, I've just tested the espeakup-amd64 image using my pendrive, with no luck as well. I have e-mailed Samuel in private with the output of the amixer and lsmod commands from my machine.
