Hi, Does this mean that I can't build Speakup without recompiling the kernel, even if I only want modules? I haven't time to recompile the kernel even if I wanted to, which I don't so as to keep the server as stable as possible. Should I try installing a new kernel from Lenny instead? I have my 2.6.24 Speakup kernel that I built but the Speakup is older than the 20080724 snapshot and seemed not as stable to me.Samuel Thibault wrote: > Tony Baechler, le Tue 12 Aug 2008 09:10:50 -0700, a ?crit : > >> neither will work on the standard Etch 2.6.18 kernel. >> > > To work, speakup needs a kernel with keyboard and VT > hooks.
