Sorry for the confusion, it is already possible for the kernel to direct console output to USB serial dongle, but speakup needs to be modified for ability to write to the USB device rather than RS232 serial ports at fixed port addresses and interrupts, it is writing to ISA bus registers. It may be a while before necessary mods are done to take the same output and write to the USB bus instead.
