Kirk, I also think that OpenMoko is a very attractive platform. So I recently contacted OpenMoko for possibly adding speech to Neo1973 thanks to eSpeak. Sean Moss-Pultz pointed out projects.openmoko.org as a place for creating such a project. >From my side, I will firstly evaluate a user space solution in one month or two.
