Chuck, Thanks for the Script!

First I tried writing you directly, but received a 550 error, host unknown
hhs48.com. So here are the 20-lines I wrote-and certainly any other viewpoints
on editing audio are quite welcome
Hi Chuck: Thanks so much, I grabbed vsound--and edited what you sent to just
the script portion. By chance can I ajust that so it either prompts for a
saving file name, or put one on the commandline?
Also, I grabbed your ramwav program from late 2005. Aren't these similar, but
one converts to mp3?
Last week, when I was at a local SLUG meeting, I asked about sound editors in
the style of the windows mp3trim. Some1 found in freshmeet cutmp3 cut mp3
may do what I want, but so far, I think it only handles mp3s. Maybe an option
to hear sounds as you are editing is just what I wanted. cut mp3 has block
commands where you can save to another file.
Whenever you ask any1 in linux about sound editors, they always mention
audasity. Have you ever tried it?
I just finished ripping a .ram and it says the output is in "grabit.mp3" I
cannot find the file. I moved your script to /usr/local/bin and did a
chmod755
I notice the first line begins with a number sign? Don't number signs become
comments?
Thanks in advance. I tell you having tr player and your program back again
will make things much easier
Hart
