You don't, not if you plan to use the gui.

Orca does speak in terminal windows. To help clarify, and compare to
something you're probably used to, a terminal window is like the
dosbox in win9x, or like cmd.exe in the nt family,
(I.E. win2000/winxp/win2003 and so on).
