Synthesisers, Orca, emacspeak speech servers

Hello,
Some time ago I mentioned trying to get my apollo working with Orca. At
the time I was suggesting doing it with speech-dispatcher.

I am still wanting to get the apollo working with Orca sometime, and I
have thought now would it be possible to get it working with Orca via
emacspeak speech servers? Installing emacspeak and looking at the
options in Orca for synthesiser when emacspeak is chosen for the output
system, reveals that apollo is not one of the options. Now as I remember
emacspeak does support the apollo, and there were other synths not
mentioned in the list in Orca which I know are supported (eflite), and
looking on the internet revealed a discussion about getting Orca working
with eflite, so I want to know whether it should be possible to add
apollo to the list in Orca? If I were to add the apollo, what sort of
information would I need to know about it? And where could I find that
information? NOTE: I am familiar with python, but not really with C so
suggesting looking at other driver source code may not be the best way
for me to find out about the apollo.

If it really will be impossible to get satisfactory results with my
apollo with Orca, I suppose I will have to look at setting my sound
cards up so I get speech through one, and sound from the other. Details
of that can be discussed when I decide that getting the apollo to work
with orca is not going to happen.
