Problems with installing speakup with fedora 3 please help

Hi Steve can you give me directions on obtaining fc6 and how I would go
about installing it from scratch thanks in advance.

FC3 is quite out of date, and you will be much better off using fc6. 
With FC6, you have the ability to have yum point to a speakup modified
version of fedora, so that you will no longer have to worry about installing
speakup.
There is also a howto on how to install fedora on the speakup web site that
also is vary good in walking you through the install process.
