Not sure why you particularly want to run an older kernel? Best answer I could give specifically to running an older kernel is "Maybe." If you have the need, try it. You have nothing to lose. Please note that up to date kernels which include Speakup are available at: ftp://speakupmodified.org/fedora/speakupmodified/5/RPMS/ Please note that these rpm packages install a default initrd.img file. You will probably want to create your own in order to better support your particular speech synthesizer using the mkinitrd command. Follow the instructions in the old Installation HOWTO. Also I see that once the kernel is downloaded you can do "rpm -ivh kernel*.rmp" for making the kernel get written in to Grubb. Is this true and does it write the "initrd.img" and "initrd?"? thanks for the help. > > Scott > _______________________________________________ > Speakup mailing list > Speakup at braille.uwo.ca > http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup -- Janina Sajka Phone: +1.202.595.7777 Partner, Capital Accessibility LLC http://CapitalAccessibility.Com Marketing the Owasys 22C talking screenless cell phone in the U.S. and Canada--Go to http://ScreenlessPhone.Com to learn more.
