You may actually have javascript installed in elinks, sometimes some sites just don't understand that elinks has got it running so will present a message saying it is disabled. To check that elinks has javascript issue the command "elinks --version" at the bash prompt, and it should list everything you compiled elinks with and should mention spider monkey if you did compile support. To check if it is enabled, check in the options manager, under ecmascript.
