Hi all,

I've recently come buy some money, and was thinking of getting a sata controller and some 320 GB drives. If possible, I wanted to raid them together. Are there any good dedicated, completely hardware SATA RAID controllers? Should I go for a "fakeraid" controller instead of the Promise TX4, or should I use mdadm? And what level would be best for a general purpose system performing some server tasks but mostly serving as my main desktop? 0 seems logical since it concatenates the disks together, but I'm not sure I like the consequences for disk failure (though they wouldn't really be any better for a single IDE disk). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Garrett
