Updating to Fedora Core 5

Willem,
What you are trying to do will cause you nothing but problems.

If you want to do an upgrade without using the install process, then you
cannot skip a full version.
There are too many changes and issues that will get in the way.

If you are relatively new to Linux, then I recommend creating a install
disk, and telling Linux that you are doing a ftp install, and follow the
prompts.

If you want to live on the edge, and want to give it a try,
You can use yum to upgrade your system.
To do this, you will first need to upgrade to FC4 and then FC5.
Again, this is not for the novice.

Personally, I use the yum approach. However:
- if you are not willing to follow prompts
- read error messages.
- use the internet to find out what the errors are telling you.
- read up on other's experiences.
- know what you are doing before you start this process.
I don't recommend this means of upgrading.
