Sorry, but it's a mystery to us as well. Some people have problems, others do not. May I suggest trying the stock Fedora distribution? You can actually use telnet, and you can actually install over http, if you wish, though I wouldn't recommend the latter unless you have a very fast pipe to the net.You'll need two computers to do a telnet install. Once you get the stock FC6 up, it's now quite trivial to update to a SpeakupModified kernel using yum. hth. Janina
