Hi Shane and List, as i 've said the first installation of the Kernel was successfull. But then i used apt-get update und upgrade. There was an new version of the kernel, witch i had installed. but no speech at all. Brltty came up so i can see that the Kernel and other?things are working corectly. under /proc there is no speakup entry. What went wrong? anyone any ideas? thankfully Lutz
