Hi Carlos and everyone, With the Speakup-enabled Debian CD of Jan 29, 05 the command at the first prompt (the silent one just after the disk stops spinning) you type: speakup speakup_synth=<whatever synth you have> not linux speakup_synth=<whatever synth> as in previous speakup-enabled debian disks. This caught me. After I was told that the command is "speakup speakup_synth=..." the rest of the installation from the 'net was a real pleasure to use. Thanks Shane!
