Slightly OT: FreeBSD accessibility

FreeBSD is supposed to install via a serial console from what I understand.  And
the installer is text based, or at least it was when I tried installing it, 
(with assistance) on my laptop.  The only reason I didn't keep it is that it
refused to run my sound card, therefore it was useless to me as a laptop OS.
