If there was some way to get enough of the text system of fedora core including rsync and its dependencies like md5sum if it uses that to do checksums testing then it might be possible to just download disc1 and get a good checksum on it. Then use the hard drive to get the remaining disks using a good rsync command. All of this though would be dependent on file sizes and a reorganization of fedora core discs might pose additional problems even beyond vailable time for its maintainer.
