Hi Janina and all, Just a short comment concerning our message about short term solutions and long term solutions, e.g. installing Linux.<smile> I had an almost flawless install when I installed Linux/Fedora at school. Speakup worked flawlessly and it found the Dectalk, and within a few hours, I was up and running. However, on my home system, various computer problems and other issues have arisen to make this installation much more challenging. Just ask those wonderful people, many on this list, who have helped me in fixing some of the unique problems I've been having.<smile> Basically, I've found that would "should" work doesn't always work as quickly as we would all like, especially with computers.<smile> Far from giving up on Linux, I feel this entire experience has challenged me to resolve any of the issues and it has made me more motivated to learn so that I can help myself and others.
