hi Stephen, that command works with the speakup.i but on my system it does not work with the speakup.s for some reason. is there anyway to use just one floppy to boot up from the cdrom? when i use the command ramdisk speakup_synth=dtlk with speakup.s the system boots but i get no speech at all. i can't figure out why it would work with speakup.i and not with speakup.s on my system. thanks in advance randy On Fri, 11 Feb 2005, Stephen Clower wrote: > Hello Randy, > > Yes, that command will work if you're using the Speakup.s kernel on a floppy. However, if you have access to a normal CD-ROM based installation, here's a quicker and easier way to get the process going. Put the first Slackware CD into your CD-rom drive and boot up your computer.
