-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have the latest Debian alsa packages installed and am running a 2.6 kernel. I have the following section in my /etc/asound.conf, which is the sample that ships with the libasound2 library: # Make OSS apps default to using dmix plugin too pcm.dsp0 { type plug slave.pcm "dmix" } This makes me think that through alsa's oss emulation, anything that writes to /dev/dsp0 should be able to use dmix. However, this is not the case. Is there something else I need to do to make this section work the way it appears it should? Does this section not even do what it appears to do? Do I have to use aoss, since using it would seem to make the above section of my asound.conf unnecessary and the configuration would seem to make aoss unnecessary?
