I have the flite module spoken of on my FTP server at
ftp.holmesgrown.com/slackware-packages . That package may need to be
recompiled to be most compatable with latest compilers, libraries and
the like. It installs into /usr/local/... and I used checkinstall to
build the package. A new version of checkinstall just came out so I may
rebuild all my custom slackware packages to be sure it all still works
like it should. I know newer versions of spechd-up and
speech-dispatcher have come out since any of my dealings with software
synths so I need to come back and revisit all these. Even if these
software synth packages are installed, it will still take some fiddling
to have it automatically speak with software speech due to possible
sound card issues and the like. But I can help out in whatever way
possible.
