hi.org and routers

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

There are many updater clients out there - I have used RunDNS in the
past - however, use dyndns.org as I prefer it to anything else. If you
are digging for your IP just after changing it through the client be
aware that you may possibly be getting results from your ISP caching
nameserver which is using old data?

Thanks.
Andrew.

Hello listers,
There has been some mention on this list of updating your ip address on
yi.org. I'm using a linksys router and am having trouble updating the
ip address on yi.org. What client software are folks using to talk to
yi.org?
I've tried a couple (ip-ez-update, along with a couple different perl
scripts). Even when I get messages saying the update was successful,
the ip address shown by dig or host is unchanged. Perhaps I need to
open a port on my router.

tia
Chris
