Hi, mount cdrom works here.
Then change directory to cdrom
Note if all you have is the speakup install cd you will need to use the
internet to install the rest.

Subject: Just installed Debian

Hi,

Just installed Debian and am trying to use apt-get. I want to configure
it to use my CDs, but I need to mount the disk first. The command I
used many years ago was mount /dev/hd? /dev/cdrom - however this is not
working. My CD (I think judging by messages) is getting assigned to
/dev/hdc. What is the best way to mount it? Also, is there a decent
front-end which allows me to see packages and search accordingly? I
only have the base system on now, and wondered if there was a way of
installing more common text apps like Mutt, Lynx etc?

I used the Debian CD on the Speakup site - the Sarge I386 ISO.

Thanks.
Andrew.
