Flite Still Using 8 Bit Voice?

Hello,

I followed Steve's advice on compiling a 16 bit
voice for Flite. I already had the 8 bit voice compiled so now I assume 
that they are both compiled. How do I switch between them? I still hear 
the 8 bit voice when I type stuff in quotes or pipe a text file to Flite. 
What did I miss?
