-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Well, I've been following the latest rage and am trying to get software speech going with Speakup. I successfully installed speech-despatcher and the spd-say command does work; I do get sound from that point. However, Speakup does not talk. Speechd_up built and installed successfully and I run speechd_up after echoing sftsyn to /proc/speakup/synth_name but Speakup still silent. Do I have to have the latest CVS of Speakup in order to do this? I think mine is still Dec. 28th from CVS. The speech-dispatcher and speechd_up apps are both latest CVS as of today May 2nd. What could I be missing here? Yes, I do have sftsyn picked as a module when speakup was built. doing an 'lsmod' shows that speakup_sftsyn was indeed loaded. Any ideas? - -- HolmesGrown Solutions The best solutions for the best price! http://ld.net/?holmesgrown -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAlcIWWSjv55S0LfERAvcZAJ9atTlvGPUF1Fa2KnpSvxBCr7SrQgCaAhAL ZDupSx+jdIDBTL0DdGVjMoE= =/7bV -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
