You probably have sendmail installed. If I were you I'd keep it. It's 
a perfectly good package (I think it's been around since like the 
70's) and will do anything you want. you probably won't even need to 
reconfigure it which is it's only downfall in my opion, it's complex 
configuration. 
Raplacing a mta can be a pretty complex operation so should be avoided 
if possible.
