I asked Cepstral about the availability of their voices. Jonathon Mosen interviewed their founder a while back and it was very interesting. He was one of the Festival developers. According to their customer service (below) the voices aren't available yet for Linux, but they will, be soon. -----Original Message----- From: Eric Jacobs [mailto:eric@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, June 18, 2004 1:44 PM To: norlingdeborah at fhda.edu; info at cepstral.com Subject: RE: Voices for Linux? Hi Debee, Thank you for the inquiry. Our voices will be available on Linux in about 2 to 4 weeks at our online store (www.cepstral.com/store.) Please let me know if you have any other questions. I'm blind and a long-time user of speech products. I've been playing with Flite on my Linux box but want to buy a better voice that's clearer and has an equally small footprint. The idea is to be able to use Emacspeak on my laptop. Your web page says you have voices for Linux available, but I couldn't find any to buy. -- Debee (Deborah Norling) Alternate Media Specialist DeAnza College Phone: 408-864-5815 <MailTo: norlingdeborah at fhda.edu>
