trouble shooting dectalk express

Your power adapter may be bad... is there any difference when you plug 
in or remove the power adapter? I'm thinking it's either the adapter 
or the connecter on the express.  If it's the battery I think any 
store or person who can build battery packs can probably rebuild the 
battery in the express.
