Help - slow performance on a Toshiba laptop

Holy cow!

I found a setting for my chip set, which I discovered with 'cat
/proc/pci', and that raised my HD speed from about 3.5 MB/sec to
about 44 MB/sec. That's a factor of about 12 or 13 increase!

I'm a new man!
